Before attending TravelCon, It would be a struggle waking up and figuring out what to write. This morning, I jumped out of bed, ready to write. I have so many ideas that I don't know where to put them all. Maybe I'll make this newsletter daily instead of weekly. Jk
Below is a table of the popular hotel rating systems in America and what they mean:
Hotel ratings are not to be confused with user reviews! Hotel ratings cover facilities and amenities, while user reviews are user-generated feedback.
Internationally and domestically, there are many standards for rating hotels.
A lower-rated property doesn't correlate with cleanliness. (But I'm not taking any chances.)
My Preference:
I like 3-star hotels because they have a good mix of value (amenities and price point.)
When traveling, I don't need much because I'm always out. But cleanliness is a significant concern for me. If I see a rodent in the hotel, call the fire department. Jk 👀
How many stars do you prefer?
The Tom Collins first made it's appearance when created by "the father of American mixology," Jerry Thomas, in 1876.

Top with club soda
Mix the gin, lemon juice and sugar syrup in a tall (collins) glass with ice, top with club soda and garnish with a lemon slice and maraschino cherry.
Random Travel Thought
Traveling has made me less materialistic except when it comes to camera equipment.
