I’ve been taking improv classes lately, and it’s been surprisingly eye-opening. I thought it would be easy—mostly because I like to think I’m hilarious. 😉
But it turns out, it’s a lot harder than it
looks.
One of the toughest parts is connecting with people you don’t even know and letting go enough to act like a kid again.
It pushes you to be present, playful, and vulnerable—all at once.
Improv also teaches you a lot about yourself. When you’re put on the spot and have to express emotions, you start to notice which ones come naturally and which ones don’t. It makes you reflect on the emotional patterns you’ve developed over time.
For example, when it comes to playing a grump? I deserve an Oscar.
I don’t know where this journey is going to take me, but I’m curious enough to keep going. It’s something different—and sometimes, that’s exactly what we need.
