I Found the Ultimate Travel Store Hiding in Plain Sight
I was trying to learn this new cinematography skill over the weekend, but I kept dozing off at my computer screen. Honestly, the topic was a little dry, but this isn't like me—I actually got more sleep than usual.
After doing
some research, I discovered that my tiredness might be due to dehydration.
I have some thoughts about this "not drinking enough water" situation...
My relationship with water. IYKYK
Here's what confuses me: I don't feel thirsty, so it's not like I'm ignoring my body's signals to drink water.
It's different with food—I definitely feel hungry when I need to eat. While I know I'm not drinking enough water, it seems strange that my body doesn't crave it the way it craves food.
Truth be told, I actually eat more than I should!
Maybe we could rewire things
so I crave water instead of snacks?
For now, my goal this week is to drink more water. If you have any tricks for staying hydrated, I'd love to hear them.
Let's get on to this week's topic.
Everyone has a favorite travel store, but mine might surprise you. While some travelers swear by REI, Target, or other retailers, I've discovered a hidden gem.
Before and after every trip, there's one place I always visit to stock
up on travel supplies: TJ Maxx (not sponsored, but I wish).
If you're a woman, you probably already know this secret. Well, the cat's out of the bag now!
I love TJ Maxx because it offers all the travel accessories I need without emptying my wallet.
What can you find
there?
The store has everything from toiletries and travel accessories to clothes, shoes, wallets, and socks.
And yes, I buy shoes there too. While I care about looking good while traveling, I don't want to risk damaging my expensive shoes on unexpected muddy roads or rough terrain.
Similar stores I recommend include Burlington Coat Factory and Ross. They offer the same great value.
The best part? If anything gets damaged during my travels, I can easily replace it without spending too much.
One word of caution: I wouldn't recommend their luggage for frequent travelers, as it might not withstand regular use.
TJ Maxx is my secret to traveling stylishly on a budget. Give it a try and let me know what you think!
Keep traveling,
Andrew

Cocktail of the Week
The Gin Fizz cocktail was invented in the United States and gained popularity in the late 19th century. This classic cocktail is a variation of the traditional fizz cocktail, made with gin, lemon juice, sugar, and carbonated water, creating a light and bubbly drink that
has remained a favorite for generations.
Recipe:
2 oz gin
3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
1/2 oz simple syrup
Club soda
Lemon twist for garnish
Instructions:
Fill a shaker with ice.
Add gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup to the shaker.
Shake well to combine and chill the ingredients.
Strain the mixture into a glass filled with ice.
Top with club soda to add effervescence.
Garnish with a lemon twist.
