Want to avoid getting sick on your next trip? This basic habit makes all the difference.
The Boring Travel Tip That Actually Works
This summer in Philly has sucked — it's basically been raining non-stop since Memorial Day!
I've been lucky enough to visit some of the world's most beautiful beaches, so I shouldn't be complaining. But there's something special about
going to your home beach... even if it's littered with cigarette butts.
There's still time this summer, so I have hope.
Anyone else out there experiencing better summer weather than I am? (Please say no, it'll make me feel better! 😂)
Traveling exposes us to many germs.
Think about it — we're often in close quarters with strangers, touching public surfaces like railings, and eating unfamiliar foods. When you combine this with jet lag and fatigue, it's a recipe
for getting sick if we're not careful.
The solution? It's so simple that you'll hate me.
Wash your hands frequently!
No kidding.
This simple habit, especially before meals, can make a huge difference in staying healthy while traveling. As an extra precaution, I always carry hand sanitizer or wipes for times when soap and water aren't available.
Here's a pro tip: Even if your hotel room, Airbnb, or friend's couch looks clean, I promise it's not.
I like to wipe down frequently touched surfaces like doorknobs, light switches, and remote controls. You don't need to go overboard with cleaning, but these basic precautions can help ensure your trip isn't ruined by illness.
Keep traveling,
Andrew
