CREDIT CARD ALERT: Chase Sapphire Reserve Just Got a Major Overhaul!
I've heard the term "snowbird" before—it refers to people who travel from the Northeast to the South when it gets cold up North, then return home when it gets too hot.
Well, I want to be a sunbird! I want to travel to places where the
sun is always shining. It feels great to have longer days, especially in nice weather. I can just go outside and take a walk. Don't be surprised if I do that in the future—after all, I'm already traveling!
The popular travel card, the Chase Sapphire Reserve, is coming out with major changes. If you don't know, it's one of the top travel cards for most travelers, so when I saw these changes, I knew I had to cover them. Overall, the card is now positioning itself as more of a luxury option with increased annual fees and the removal
of some popular benefits.
Keeping track of all these changes can be confusing, but don't worry -
I've got you covered!
Here's a diagram describing the changes:
I'm not here to tell you if these
changes are good or bad. It really depends on what you can afford, which services you use, and whether this fits your travel style. Also consider the company's reputation and whether they'll honor existing agreements or continue making changes year after year.
Whether these changes shock you or not, I always recommend DIVERSIFYING your credit card portfolio!
Never rely on just one card for your travel points. Credit card companies are constantly making changes that can impact your travel strategy.
Have multiple cards that you can responsibly manage to protect yourself against devaluations or any other benefit changes.
Keep traveling,
Andrew
Which travel credit card benefits do you consider non-negotiable when choosing a card, regardless of annual fee increases?
Cocktail of the Week
The Southside cocktail is believed to have originated in the United States during the Prohibition era, where it was favored by Chicago mobsters as a refreshing yet potent drink. Its name likely comes from Chicago’s South Side, where the notorious South Side Gang
operated.
Ingredients:
2 oz gin
3/4 oz fresh lime juice (or lemon juice)
3/4 oz simple syrup
5-6 fresh mint leaves
Ice cubes
Optional:
club soda for a spritz
Preparation:
Add the gin, lime juice, simple syrup, and mint leaves to a shaker.
Muddle the mint gently to release its flavor.
Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.
Strain into
a chilled cocktail glass or over fresh ice in a highball glass.
Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint.
